Aloha Friday

Photobucket

Over at Kilani's blog she started the Aloha Friday, in honor of in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So she thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. I thought this is a great idea so therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

This being the first day of May, means that in 11 days - Lyla will be celebrating her 1st Birthday! A momentous event for our daughter and for us as parents. I have been a busy bee planning for this event and I just wondered what you have done for your children's 1st birthdays.

So my question is:

What did you do or what do you plan to do to celebrate your child's/children's 1st birthday? A large party or just close family and friends? Party favors?

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

My first son, I did a big birthday party. It was a little to much for him and it exhausting me. So with my other two, I did a small party with family.

Josslyn turns 1 in about 7 weeks and I have no idea what we are doing for her birthday.

Justyn's first birthday was Pooh, and Jacob's was Madagascar.

My youngest son was one just shy of a year ago. His B-day party fell on Mother's Day. We had a brunch for our family (some were out of town) and cake. I bought each of the kids that came (all family) a little something. My oldest is 5 and we have still not had a big friends party since he is a summer kiddo.

With both my kids we just did a small party at home with some family. No party favors (except the cake!).

When Marlee turns 1 she will probably get 2 birthday parties...one here and one in my hometown. But for number 1 it will just be family and maybe a friend or two...nothing too big!

Just family:)

They don't remember anyway! The party is more for you than them.

We had a party at our house. Are friends are our family, so it works out well.

My son's birthday fell close to Mother's Day and we also had him dedicated on the same day. So we celebrated all three with both sides of the family. We did a balloon party because that is what he was interested in at the time. He ended up napping for half of his party, but I think he still had a good time??
